# Radar

Everything around us is constantly changing and technology has a crucial role in this shift. Technology operates in an evolutionary, step-by-step process in which components and subsystems are gathered, nourished, refined, and reassembled in an ongoing process of improvement. To follow these steps, Envisioning is looking forward to stimulating the technological overall comprehension by providing a sophisticated concept in which technology is a tool created to solve problems.

The technological Radar is an interactive visualization tool that allows navigation between emerging technologies, each with a summary and description of the current state of development. Their position on the map reflects their level of maturity according to NASA’s Technology Readiness Level ([TRL](https://app.gitbook.com/@envisioning/s/envisioning/~/drafts/-LzMn7J31tsUzqsXATu9/metrics)), from 1 (the lowest level of technology maturation) to 9 (technology is already being fixed and incorporated into new systems).

The following video shows how to navigate the Radar through the lenses of the techDetector, a product from a partnership between GIZ and Envisioning. It assesses the footprint of emerging technologies on economic, ecological, social and political participation dimensions according to the 17 parameters of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

{% hint style="info" %}
All the other radars we have previously developed in different partnerships follows the same navigation structure and have their own personalized assessment method. However, the navigation is still patterned according to the parameters set by Envisioning, as a common design ground that fits the schemes established by our editorial line.
